A man who was stopped by the police and found to be driving without an insurance cover is facing traffic and criminal charges.
The 43-year-old driver was stopped by an officer near Ridgetown last weekend after he was spotted in a 1998 Ford Windstar on Highway 401 westbound, said a report.
On inspection it was found that the vehicle license plate was stolen and that it had a stolen validation sticker.
The driver was then arrested for possession of stolen property, operating a vehicle without valid van insurance or a valid driver’s license.
According to police the man is facing charges that include failure to notify changes, driving while under suspension, failure to surrender permit to motor vehicle and failure to apply for owner permit etc.
In a separate development van drivers have been advised to take extra as the clock changes this month and they may now be driving to work in the dark.
The piece of advice from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) also reminded that drivers may find it hard adjusting after being used to driving in the daylight.
