More Brits are turning to the internet for travel information, it has been revealed.
According to website FairFX.com, holidaymakers are turning to the internet to resolve travel issues such as finding out airport parking and airport hotel information in advance.
The firm also found that an increasing number of travellers are sorting out their foreign currency through the internet.
Stephen Heath, chief executive of FairFX.com, said: "What we are finding in this recessionary environment - as is the case with low cost air fares or travel insurance – is that people are looking to the internet for price comparisons as opposed to the traditional methods of buying currency.
It seems that more and more people are using the internet to deal with their travel money needs in advance, before they go away."
Meanwhile, UK holidaymakers planning to travel to the Channel Islands have been told to ensure they have travel insurance.
The Department of Health stated that UK holidaymakers will have to pay for medical treatments by the end of this month as the agreement that allows a limited number of travellers from the UK open too free medical treatment will come to an end after nearly 33 years.
