At least four children in families that take out Tesco’s travel insurance policies would have a free cover each.
According to the new deal announced by Tesco Personal Finance the offer, which is aimed at families, is open to new customers only and children will get their free cover only if their families buy travel policy with the firm.
It also said that single parents were eligible under the scheme and that they could also insure up to four children for free.
Head of travel insurance at the firm, Rachel Cutler, commented that the offer was a great deal for families planning to travel abroad this year.
“Having the right cover is vital and now the whole family can be insured for less, freeing up more cash to spend on holiday,” she said.
The scheme comes at a time UK holidaymakers are increasingly reminded to ensure that they take out adequate travel cover before travelling abroad.
It also follows repeated warnings from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, amidst reports that holidaymakers increasingly face being scammed while abroad.
Having adequate cover, they were reminded, could serve as a cushion in case they get into trouble.
