Insurance - Wedding cake, flowers, white dress and… wedding insurance? - 29/06/2008

Alongside the cost of food and fuel, weddings have become the next costly endeavour, rising on average by £2,000 a year. With most weddings now running at approximately £20,000 a go, insurers such as Marks & Spencer Money are now emphasising the importance of wedding insurance as nothing should ruin your big day.

The purpose of wedding insurance is to help you recoup any costs incurred, such as damage to your wedding dress or cake, we all know too well that red wine and a white dress do not mix well. Or even if you have to cancel the whole day in instances of sickness or if the company holding the reception fall into liquidation and the cost of the entire wedding can be repaid to you.

Like all insurance policies there are instances when claims will not be possible, for instance, it will not cover you if your bride or groom to be gets cold feet, but then what insurance policy is ever that generous.
