A woman has been awarded with hundreds of thousands of pounds in compensation, after she was involved in a motorcycle accident.
The woman, who was in her early forties at the time of the accident and a student at university, was riding her motorbike to go to work in hospital for a night shift she was covering. On her way, she was hit by a car.
She sustained severe personal injuries including those to her rib, neck, shoulder, spine and knee. The woman was so badly injured that she had to have her leg amputated as well as undergo four operations to stop the spread of an infection.
The woman had a son, who was in his early teens at the time had up the responsibility of caring for his mother, while she recovered. The woman says that she still feels pain due to nerve damage in the area and although she uses a prosthetic limb, she needs to use a wheelchair to get around.
She contacted a personal injury lawyer and with their help she was able to claim £800,000 in compensation for the accident that she was involved in.
