Barclaycard has urged customers to use its new mybarclaycard online service to make sure their lives are "as easy as possible" during postal strikes.
According to Mr Amer Sajed, chief executive of Barclaycard UK, handling financial affairs over the internet will prevent problems such as postal strikes from having any impact through delaying payments and incurring fees.
Sajed made his comments following the news that there may be a national postal strike taking place in October.
Mr Sajed said: "We want to make our customers' lives as easy as possible and by managing their account online, customers can take control.
“Managing an account online with mybarclaycard will avoid the impact of issues such as postal strike action. If customers do not have access to internet facilities, they can make a payment over the phone.”
The mybarclaycard internet service, which was launched on August 27th, allows users to set up a direct debit to pay their credit card bill, make one-off payments, view statements and complete other financial activities.
It also allows people to request balance transfers, dispute any transactions on their bill and apply for an improved credit limit online.
