Car drivers have been told that their no claims bonus on their insurance policies are safe and well following the revelation that tougher regulations are to be put in place to punish those who break road rules.

The Department for Transport have announced that new guidelines designed to hit bad drivers where it hurts is to be brought in.

Non UK residents will have to pay an on the spot fine if caught driving below the required standards.

Road safety minister Jim Fitzpatrick commented: "We want to keep our roads as safe as possible and these tough new measures mean that any driver who breaks the rules of the road will have to face the consequences."
