A woman driving a minivan has led the police in a chase that ended at her home.
The 34-year-old woman, Brook Leann Champagne, told the police after her arrest that she was driving at a high speed because she wanted to test the strength of her new 1992 Chrysler Town and County minivan.
She also said she was hurrying to get home.
But she admitted to an officer that she had no van insurance for the vehicle that she bought only last Friday.
Her licence had also been suspended and to get round that she had to put a plate belonging to another vehicle and another owner on the van to enable her register the vehicle.
Now the van driver faces charges of eluding, driving while licence was suspended, having no insurance cover, fraudulent use of registration and driving under the influence – after officers suspected that she had been under the influence of methamphetamine.
