The Trafficmaster system and Citreon vans have been given prestigious Green Fleet Awards, in 2008. The vans received their awards as they both were seen to have made commitments that will encourage more reductions to the environmental effects of motoring and also help to improve business operations.
This news may be of interest to van insurance costumers as environmental vans can bring down the cost of van insurance. The Trafficmaster was awarded with the IT & Communications Product of the Year award, for its ‘Fleet Director,’ which monitors, the mileage, vehicle use and also alerts managers of any unauthorised usage or dangerous driving.
The Citreon was awarded the LCV (light commercial vehicles) manufacturer of the year for its Airdream programme, which offers duel fuel vehicles advanced catalyst technology along with the Fleet Driver system.
The use of Fleet Director, in vehicles has reduced the fuel consumption in vehicles by £12 per cent, saved drivers the equivalent of four months of sitting in traffic and cut the distance travelled on journeys by 16 per cent.
John Lawrence, Sales and Marketing Director at Trafficmaster, said: “We are thrilled to have won this award. We believe, like Green Fleet, that using the right technology in the right way you can improve business performance and incorporate a green objective to minimise the impact of driving on the environment. The recognition is particularly relevant; as our solution continues to help many companies remain profitable in these current challenging economic times.
