Van drivers, who smoke in their vehicles, could cause its value to lower dramatically. British Car Auctions (BCA), has warned van insurance customers, that smoking in the van, makes it harder to sell, when it is going to be resold.
The firm also advised van drivers, that smoking inside could not only make the vehicle harder to sell, but they could also face, getting a fine, as they are breaking the no smoking ban, which was implemented in July last year.
The ban which imposes no smoking in public places, also means that people cannot smoke in work vehicles, that are used by more than one person. This is according to the anti-smoking website, smokefreeengland.co.uk.
Tim Naylor, PR manager at BCA, said: "Drivers don't want to be reminded of the previous owner every time they get behind the wheel. Professional buyers will always favour vehicles that are in the best possible condition and will pay the most for them."
