Research from a holiday reviews website has revealed that Britons are among the most skilled and resourceful when looking for travel insurance and in negotiating the best bargain policies. Britons were 10 % more likely to obtain better deals than holiday going counterparts in the rest of the world.
Britons, in particular, were observed to shop around for the best deal with almost 90% of them rejecting the first travel insurance quote they were given. Almost 4,000 travellers worldwide were surveyed by TripAdvisor and Britons emerged as the most knowledgeable about travel insurance amongst all of them.
The survey discovered that 69 per cent intend to buy an annual multi-trip policy over the next 12 months, compared with only 40 per cent of travellers worldwide.
The news marks a turnaround as only a few years ago Britons were singled out as being particularly negligent in the degree of research carried out by them when seeking the best travel insurance deal, with some ignoring a policy altogether.
