InsureandGo: Travel insurance 'not a luxury' - 27/09/2007
|
Taking out travel insurance is "essential" prior to going on holiday - and should not be considered a "luxury", InsureandGo have said.
The travel insurance firm warned customers that vacationing without cover "simply isn't worth the risk", due to the possibility of something going wrong while abroad.
InsureandGo spokesperson Perry Wilson commented: "We know people lead busy lives and sometimes things are left to the last minute and that's why we have tried to make travel insurance as easy to buy as possible.
"Travelling without insurance simply isn't worth the risk and we hope there is no excuse for not getting round to it."
These comments come in the wake of research published by Sainsbury's Bank, which shows that uninsured travel abroad is a growing issue among UK holiday-makers.
The research shows that one in five of the adult population have booked a 'last-minute' holiday two weeks or less before their journey date.
Of this total, 19 per cent did not take out travel insurance, Sainsbury's said.
