Travel Insurance - easyJet: Internet has revolutionised travel industry - 08/10/2007

The internet has revolutionised the way we plan our holidays, low cost airline easyJet has said.

With travel insurance policies and hotel rooms along with cheap flights all bookable online, travel websites are playing an increasingly central role in the tourism industry.

An easyJet spokesperson commented: "The internet has essentially revolutionised the travel industry.

"It means you have greater choice, people always love a bargain, and the internet enables you to search for exactly what you want - it gives you that choice it gives you flexibility and it gives you great value for money, all at your fingertips…it's all about your personal choice."

The spokesperson added that the company had begun by mainly booking flights by telephone, but that now the majority of business was done online.
