Single-trip travel insurance is often thought of as being the cheaper selection, but that isn't the case especially for policies which cover winter sports.

The findings revealed that worldwide annual multi-trip policies which include winter sports cover start from as little as £58. However, the cheapest single trip policy to the US for a winter sports trip is just over £73.

Peter Gerrard, head of insurance research at moneysupermarket.com insists “It pays to shop around for the best deal, especially if planning to travel more than once in a year. There are obvious savings to be made especially when winter sports cover is included”

He goes on to say that the findings show the importance of looking in detail at the packages on offer before choosing the right policy.
