Mortgages - Protect your home - 29/04/2008

A substantial amount of people who are planning to buy a home will probably be prepared to take out mortgage protection on their property. Figures taken from the council of mortgage lenders illustrate that house repossessions increased during the second part of last year. They state “repossessions in the UK increased to 8,860 in the second half of the year from 8,140 in the first six months of 2006.

It is thought that many of these people unfortunate to have found themselves in this situation, wished that they had taken out some form of mortgage protection in the hope of protecting their home. Experts have suggested that mounting interest rates, particularly in the last 6 months are to blame for the flow of repossessions across the nation. Michael Coogan: the CML’s director general stated “with a further rate rise possibly on the way, repossessions will continue to grow this year.
