For ten years now, maths whiz Carol Vorderman has been the face of secured loans lender First Plus, her intelligent image filling viewers with trust for the products on offer at First Plus.
Carol Vorderman is probably best known for her slot on ever popular daytime TV quiz show, Countdown, where she has been a familiar face since the beginning of the program back over ten years ago.
Working on Countdown, Carol Vorderman has worker alongside some of Britain's most treasured television presenters such as Richard Whiteley and Des Lynam.
Sadly, long term Countdown presenter Richard Whiteley, died in September 2005. Having had a trust set up in his name which has recently benefited pupils at Giggleswick school where he was a former pupil and governor for 25 years has ensured that he will go on to assist the community.
Speaking of the recent project by the trust to build a new theatre, which cost almost £2 million, Carol Vorderman said of her much missed colleague:
“Whiters would have been quietly proud of being remembered like this. He always wanted to see the creation of a theatre at Giggleswick School and this is a fitting tribute to a man whose life-long passions included performance, the Dales, and his school.”
She is now among one of Britain's biggest earning female television presenters, still working on countdown where she is an expert at the numbers round, as well as hosting other popular programs such as Pride of Britain.
Carol is considered by many to be a great role model for young and older women, having made maths sexy and continued to be attractive to the opposite sex past the age of forty.
At the age of 47, having had two children and two failed marriages, Carol Vorderman can still turn a roomful of heads with her fantastic figure and good looks.
When she first started out on Countdown, she was not considered 'telly totty' by any stretch of the imagination, but over the years Carol Vorderman has developed into something of a sex symbol.
Her frocks on Countdown these days are up to the minute trends, often designed by famous and expensive designers. Recently she was spotted wearing a popular dress on countdown which style icon Victoria Beckham was later spotted out and about in.
Away from the set, her look is even more glamorous, as she recently arrived to a charity event wearing a stunning gold number in the style of 50's siren Marilyn Monroe.
The dress featured a daring plunging neck line which flattered her ample cleavage and caused many male party goers to find themselves unable to tear their eyes from her, including the much younger Prince William, 25.
Having fronted First Plus advertising campaigns for over ten years now, Carol Vorderman has decided that now is the time to call it a day with the Barclays owned lending institution and has chosen not to renew her contract.
While hosting the adverts, Carol Vorderman received heavy criticism amid claims that the company put a great deal of homes at risk by offering secured loans worth up to 25 per cent more than the value of the property.
Many felt that in her position as a trusted personality known to be good at maths, that she should have chosen a more reliable and trustworthy company to endorse.
Managing director at FirstPlus, Neil Radley, said: "Carol has been a tremendous ambassador for FirstPlus."
Her agent John Miles added: "Carol has a number of exciting projects."
