The credit crunch is digging its claws in deeper it appears as the number of Britons that have missed their bill payments on their mortgages, loans or credit cards has soared in the past six months.
The figures show that a worrying one in ten people have failed or are still failing to make the necessary payments on the debts they owe. Money Expert reveals from their research that there are at least five million bills that have gone unpaid and that the credit card sector is proving to be the greatest burden for customers struggling with the amounts they have borrowed.
The outlook is somewhat bleak for as the country continues to tumble towards an economic recession it is invariable that the pressure on millions of households will continue to mount. It is very worrying indeed that the number of individuals defaulting on their personal loan payments has increased considerably in the previous six month period. Figures show that in the 6 months up to September, 1.3 million people missed a loan payment, whereas the figures for the 6 months up to January show only 859,000 defaulted.
