Car loans site launches Dragons Den-style feature - 20/12/2007

Those contacting a website for car loan help are to undertake a gruelling Dragons Den-style process in their bid to secure funds.
Bosses at lending site Zopa, inspired by the format of the hit BBC show, have launched a new service, Zopa Listings.
Users will be able to upload pictures and video, telling their stories of financial hardship to illustrate why they need the funds - resulting in a sort of virtual Dragon's Den.
As well as car loans, Zopa has arranged home improvement and debt consolidation loans in the past.
The site's communications manager Martin Campbell, speaking to the Daily Mail, commented: "A middle-aged man looking for money to buy a guitar probably isn't going to get that many enquiries…but colourful stories about divorces or music careers are likely to get quite a few enquiries."
Mr Campbell also admitted that video requests from "good-looking" people might lead to more successful fund pleas.
According to Zopa's own statistics, around £20 million of loan agreements have been made since the site's launch two years ago.
