With Christmas round the corner many of us will be looking forward to tucking into a roast turkey and piling on the pounds with Christmas goodies, many of us fail to realise the health risks we are putting our bodies through, just one of these is eating higher quantities of meat this can increase the chance of heart disease. Recent years have seen a strong movement in laws relating to vegetarians and the costs of life insurance polices. Due to the difference in diet vegetarians have a lower chance of getting certain diseases.
Animal Friends Insurance managing director, Elaine Fairfax said cutting meat out of one’s diet could effectively cut the risk of “heart disease by up to 30%” and yet vegetarians were expected to pay the same price as their unhealthy counterparts. Newer companies like Ethical Insurance are finally recognising the efforts being made by vegetarians and are justly rewarding them with substantial savings of up to 10%, a further increase of 4% from when the company was launched in summer 2007.
