New research has revealed that over 30% of UK adults do not have life insurance cover for the sole reason that they have neglected to think about it.
No steps were taken either, as this 37 per cent of individuals did not even consider taking one out. The current economic climate is being blamed as a major reason as consumers are more concerned about meeting mortgage payments and essential bills.
Experts believe it is a combination of lack of market communication to customers as well as general apathy among consumers who only decide to take out life insurance when a life altering event suddenly happens.
They also argue that more should be done to reach consumers and so channels of marketing should be reinforced, with new methods created to ensure people realise the tremendous risk in leaving it too late.
