Royal Liver has become the latest life insurance provider to move towards a more simple data processing system which will enable them to vastly improve the speed with which customers can receive their cover.
By making a few changes to the current system, brokers can now access information with ease and give customers a quick response as to whether they have been approved.
Once approved the cover can start almost instantly, meaning that customers are covered from the moment they settle on a plan, if they so wish.
Royal liver have implemented phase one of their of their enhancement programme into its adviser extranet facility, which gives advisers the option to amend non-price sensitive data once an application has been submitted.
Marketing manager at Royal Liver, Aidan Dewhurst says: “The system improvements and the enhanced usability are designed to give advisers more control and will result in their clients receiving their cover quicker.”
Many other leaders in the life insurance market look set to follow suit, with Bright Grey already planning to expand its online proposition to allow client records to be reused when filling out online applications.
New products from Fortis have also entered the market and are being offered by many of the larger companies.
Roy McLoughlin of Master Adviser says that being able to offer this product will really give them a boost in the market.
He says: “Real Life Cover will prove to be an easy sell for many advisers because conceptually it¹s great. It is an example of a true menu-based product that allows you to pick and choose. The more innovation the better, particularly in helping IP. This product will undoubtedly do that.”
