Post Office moves into life insurance - 17/09/2007

The Post Office's financial services division seems is to expand still further with the launch of its life insurance cover.
Over 50s Life Cover, available immediately, offers a standard life insurance service - with funeral fees and the covering of outstanding debts coming as standard.
Furthermore, the Post Office has claimed that "acceptance is guaranteed" for those who apply - and that only three questions will be asked by them before a quote is given.
Post Office director of insurance Phil Ashkuri said: "This is the first of a suite of products the Post Office is launching into the life market. Our Over 50s cover is easy to understand and apply for, with guaranteed acceptance.
"We also offer our customers more comprehensive cover than some of the leading plans on the market by paying out the full sum assured after just 12 months."
Reflecting the competitive nature of the life insurance market today, the Post Office is also giving out 'sweetener' offers to new customers, who can choose from gifts including a Freeview box and a digital camera.
