Following the successful introduction of insurepink, the Equity Insurance Group has launched new personal lines products which is targeted at men who are diagnosed with prostate and testicular cancers.
Insurepink was created by Equity to provide a travel insurance policy for people with breast cancer, and now with the creation of insureblue, the firm hopes to enable the 37,000 men diagnosed every year to obtain competitive travel cover.
Equity intends to donate £1 for every travel policy sold, to the ‘Everyman’ campaign, as well as £10 for every motor, home and motorcycle policy. The money raised will go towards funding research into the causes and curative treatments of prostate and testicular cancers. Those who decide to acquire an insureblue policy will be covered for the actual risks involved when travelling with male cancers, as opposed to other policies, which merely reflect the perceived dangers. Insureblue takes into account individual circumstances when calculating a fair premium, without hindering the customer with intrusive and tactless questions about their medical history and situation, as is often the case of other insurers when seeking information for quotes.
The insureblue personal lines product development scheme marks a new era in insurance cover for many people who wish to travel with cancer, and the intention is to provide cover for a whole host of other pre-existing medical conditions.
