RIAS links up with National Trust - 31/10/2007

Over-50s insurance provider RIAS has launched a new partnership with the National Trust with the aim of getting Britain's elderly to enjoy the great outdoors.
Both organisations are now set to sponsor the production of downloadable walking guides covering spectacular coastal and rural walks up and down the UK.
The partnership follows research from the insurance firm showing that 86 per cent of Britons are failing to walk the disease-busting 10,000 steps per day recommended by health authorities.
Managing director of RIAS Janet Connor commented: "Our research shows that people are more likely to meet this target if they live in areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Lake District and the South Downs.
"Through our sponsorship of the National Trust, we want to show that you're never far from a beautiful walk wherever you live in England, Wales and Northern Ireland."
Along with the insurance products aimed at the over-50s by specialist firms such as RIAS, Britain's elderly can also benefit from a number of targeted life insurance products on offer to them.
Insurance providers such as the Post Office have launched over-50s life insurance products in recent months.
