Insurance - Zurich launches van insurance product - 21/11/2007

A new van insurance product was announced by car insurance provider Zurich today.

The insurance, developed by the car insurance firm's UK Broker Division, will be rolled out next year.

Covering light commercial vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tonnes, the product will provide a loan vehicle when the van is being repaired, replacements for damaged vans and EU-wide overseas cover as standard.

Third-party insurance is also provided to trailers - and personal belongings worth up to £100 are also covered.

Director at Zurich Paul Greenwood said that the van insurance product had come about after the firm consulted with customers.

He added: "It gives us another string to our bow as we become a successful multi-niche specialist and allows us to reach sectors we don't currently attract."
