According to a survey by a price comparison website, Britons are most likely to make a false home insurance claim for monetary gains. A majority of the Brits interviewed, stated that they are likely to defraud their home insurer as a result of the recession. A large number of them admitted that they have already done this.
The findings have determined that out of every twenty Britons, there is at least one who would consider making a false claim on home insurance. Out of this number, nearly 1.2 million people have blamed economic recession for their untruthfulness. They said that recession made them think of taking up such an action. At least 5 percent of these people stated that they have already deceived their home insurance provider and have made successful home insurance claims.
The research further goes on to reveal that the most likely to deceive their home insurance company are 20 year olds. In fact, nearly one sixth of 20 to 29 year olds said that they would not mind deceiving their home insurer. Out of these, nearly one fifth have already submitted false claims and attained a pay out.
