A major insurance company is set to increase its home cover over the Christmas period to help make sure that customers will not be left high-and-dry in case their presents or gifts get stolen.
Saga Home Insurance, which specialises in covering those over 50, announced that they would be raising the level of cover by 10% to take into account the greater number of valuables that people are storing over the festive period.
The insurer also announced that they would be doubling the cover available on personal belongings on their car insurance to protect gifts that are stored in the car.
"Despite it being the season of goodwill, there are some unscrupulous individuals out there willing to steal presents from the boots of cars or from under our Christmas trees. Saga Insurance has chosen to provide that extra level of cover at the time of year when people have more valuables in their cars or homes." Said Roger Ramsden from Saga.
