When mentioning home insurance many think of policies that cover contents and valuables within the home. This is not always strictly true. Home insurance policies may now cover a range of items, injuries and claims. It is this flexibility and scope that is putting the strain on some popular home insurance packages.
Many home insurance policies now offer an element of personal liability and personal injury. This creates a grey area when paying claimants. Some injuries sustained, even outside the home, are deemed legitimate and received a compensation payout. This flexibility has left some insurers reeling as a great many of circumstances become valid for payment under many home insurance packages.
Personal liability is one of the rarest policies for individuals to claim payment on and very few buy a personal liability policy. Many insurers are now amending their policies to eliminate the scope of claim.
