Sainsbury's Home Insurance have revealed the price homeowners have to pay through their children’s parties, the total amount registering at just under £17 million a year for policy holders.
The insurance provider has as a result urged parents to ensure their offspring are well aware of what can happen when planning a celebration and the financial ramifications if it were to veer out of control. Policy holders have been warned that any lax in security measures could be extremely detrimental.
Neil Laird, manager of Sainsbury's Home Insurance, "When such events get out of hand some insurers may suggest that the homeowner failed to take due care of the property and could refuse to pay up," he warned.
The amount of stories emanating from the media detailing teenage parties which have suffered from the hands of gatecrashers and social networking sites advertisement, are on the rise along with the insurance premiums.
