For those of you in the UK who are fortunate enough to own a holiday home, it may be a very wise decision for you to purchase home insurance for that holiday home. This is the professional opinion of Graeme Trudgill: who is the technical and corporate affairs executive at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association, in his opinion it would be better for the individual to opt for a policy that differs from a UK insurance policy.
His views were posted on the stride website, as he further emphasises on the matter by stating that a policy, which covers homes that are unoccupied for long periods, would be essential, as it would cover things such as charges and building costs. It is believed that up to £15,200 worth of items are found in holiday homes.
Trudgill goes on to say “You wouldn’t leave anything valuable out there anyway but you do need a specialist policy.
