Britain a nation of bookworms, insurer says - 19/02/2008

Britons dream of adding a library to their homes in order to curl up with a good book, home insurance provider Legal & General said today.
A study from the insurer has revealed that 87 per cent would like to have a 'hobby room' in their house - with a reading room proving the most popular.
Exercise fanatics hoping to add a mini-gym formed the second biggest group - with budding artistes dreaming of a home recording studio or karaoke room coming out in third place.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, a combined sewing/knitting room took bottom place in the home insurance firm's list.
Head of communications at Legal & General Ruth Wilkins said: "Contrary to what many believe, this research shows that books and reading are very key elements to British home life - with almost nine in ten adults having a hobby at home, it is important that hobby equipment is covered by your household insurance.
"The value of a film, music or book collection can soon add up, and gym equipment can be expensive to replace."
