It has been revealed that many people have felt pressured to buy their home insurance from the same provider who sold them their mortgage.

Research carried out by Gocompare.com found that of the 20 percent of people who brought their home insurance and mortgage from the same provider, more than half felt pressured to do so. At a time when good mortgage deals are harder to find, many people may feel like they have to buy the additional products and services on offer in order to secure the loan. This is not acceptable, as people can be missing out on other deals which make more financial sense for them.

Feeling under pressure to buy products that might be more expensive or less suitable could lead to more problems for consumers at a later stage when paying the bills starts becoming a problem.
