What is section 75?
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 will hold your card issuer jointly responsible with whoever you paying for anything that goes wrong. Section 75 applies to all purchases between £100 and £30,000.
This means, for any purchase made with your card, that your card issuer would have to reimburse you if the original person you paid couldn’t or refused to.
Because of this, your credit card is a safe way to pay for items where you have reason to be suspicious of the seller, such as on the internet.
