With more and more of us owning a credit card or two it is important to know your legal rights. The question is; do you?

Card issuers fail to tell you about the legislation section 75. It is part of the Consumer Credit Act, if you use your credit card to make a purchase you have an agreement which involves your credit card lender and the place of your purchase.

They both are liable for anything that goes wrong and necessary legal action can be taken against either party.

The legislation is restricted to any goods purchased for more than £100 but less than £30,000, it is useful to remember if you order goods and they arrive damaged or the company closes before you receive your goods.

Section 75 is applicable to anyone who uses a credit card. It can also be used if problems occur when purchasing goods online or abroad.

Many lenders will pass you around the houses and even tell you to call the place you originally made the purchase but remember your card lender is also accountable.
