Credit Cards - Saga launches new zero per cent credit card - 30/04/2008

Financial service provider, Saga Personal Finance has launched the Saga Platinum Visa card, which is said will, provide customers with a fairer deal on their spending or borrowing.

Re-payments to the credit card are ordered fairly, so after interest and fees, the most expensive debt would have been cleared first.

The credit card also boasts no foreign currency charges for transactions in Visa Europe, and 0% on balance transfers and new purchases for the first six months.

The Saga Platinum card also offers no foreign currency charges for transactions within the European countries that accept Visa. This includes all EU countries as well as some non-members, such as Norway and Turkey, allowing customers to make the most of their money when shopping overseas. For other countries Saga passes on a 1 per cent charge from Visa for processing these transactions.

Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive of Saga Group Ltd, said: "This is another product from Saga which puts the customer's needs first. Not only does it offer 0 per cent foreign currency charges, when using the card within Visa Europe, but also offers a fair order of payments and 0 per cent balance transfers and purchases for the first six months."
