Car Insurance - Female car insurance is ‘cheaper for a reason’ - 23/03/2009

It has been revealed that there may be a very good reason as to why female car insurance premiums tend to be cheaper than male insurance costs.

According to a car insurance firm, women drivers are safer behind the wheel than their male counterparts.

The company supported its claim with figures from the World Health Organisation that show men are three times more likely to die when driving than female road users.

It recognised that whilst male drivers generally posses more impressive car control, it pointed out that female motorists have better self control, to which the firm noted that the latter was vital when it comes to staying safe behind the wheel.

Chief executive David Williams explained women may have more low-speed accidents than men but these rarely cause serious injury: "Male crashes, on the other hand, are more often linked to risk taking and breaking laws," he stated.

As a result, women may find it easier to secure cheap car insurance.
