Bad news for car drivers as forecasts predict more snow over the weekend increasing the potential risk of car insurance claims.

The Met Office have stated that there is no rest bite in sight as on Friday the southern half of England is at moderate risk of heavy snow.

A spokesperson for insurance company Admiral commented on how this latest news may affect policy holders.

"On Monday we had almost 1,700 new claims registered, which is 40% higher than any time previously. It's hard to pinpoint exactly which ones are down to the adverse weather alone, but it certainly would have played a part in the increase in accidents."
