Recent statistics have shown that the amount of people who drive without car insurance is dropping steadily, resulting in cheaper premiums for all.
The Association of British Insurers (ABI), commented on the findings from government figures which showed a drop in illegal driving for the first time since 2006. The ABI have welcomed this news as it’s well documented that those who drive without insurance, seriously inflate premiums for those who do as well as are more likely to cause an accident.
The amount of uninsured drivers has dropped from 1.9 per cent to 1.2 per cent.
Spokesperson for ABI Malcolm Tarling stated: "Uninsured drivers are not only expensive, they are also a danger on the road, so anything we can do to reduce the number is good news for everyone."
