Car Insurance - To repair or to claim - 04/11/2008

The over 50’s car insurance specialist RIAS has expressed the importance of having a policy with a no claims bonus feature. Apparently having this could save you as much as 75% on your premiums. For motorists this means a huge dilemma of thinking what is worse; paying for repairs to your vehicle yourself and keeping your no claims bonus or filing an insurance claim which could end up increasing your monthly payments and costing you more?

RIAS also reminded motorists that no claims and no fault were two very different things. Meaning if you are involved in an accident and any part of it was your fault you could end up losing your no claims. With the festive season upon us RIAS like many other insurers stressed how important it is to drive safely and responsibly, this includes having your vehicle serviced, not using a mobile phone whilst driving and not drink driving.
