Miami (America) has witnessed a spurt of car fraud crimes recently, and in an attempt to control the situation Allstate Insurance recently filed a lawsuit in federal court that will enable insurers to be vigilantes and pursue individuals who commit car insurance fraud.
The lawsuit alleges that the defendants worked together to stage 17 car accidents and then filed fraudulent insurance claims. This idea to protect insurers from scam artists is not the first though, as it has been attempted before by Miami insurance companies, but with an end result of the insurers paying out anyway due to the expenses and time a law suit costs.
Allstate insurers knew something was not quite right, when the same cars with the same damage turned up in multiple accidents, with this the company investigated the situation and hired a lawyer to bring suit.
Therefore, the reform urges insurers to consider prosecuting con artists as an investment that results in lower premiums for honest drivers and lower costs for insurance companies.
