Recent research carried out by Esure has revealed that a majority of British drivers would potentially opt for an electric car if it meant it would help the environment, providing cleaner air. The survey found that a massive 71% of motorists see an electric car as a viable option.
The research further revealed that younger drivers, were more attracted to green cars which may be useful knowledge for car insurance customers, due to the fact that another substantial 81% of those under the age of 25 are contemplating purchasing an electric car.
The findings uncovered that those drivers over the age of 55, are least likely to be tempted to go for the purchase of a green car. Mike Pickard: head of risk and underwriting at Esure had this to say “With the growing cost of motoring and the pressure of having a greener lifestyle, many motorists are considering alternatives and the electric car is an attractive option. It is very cheap to run and you’ll never be stung at the petrol pump again.
