Whereas motorists, especially young drivers, are paying a fortune on car insurance they could save a lot of money by shopping around.
This advice comes from the Association of British Insurance (ABI) which revealed that taking time to search could help drivers find the cheapest deals on the market.
Spokesman for the group, Malcolm Tarling explained that motorists could significantly save on their car cover by comparing prices, even as he was quick to caution against choosing policy based on price alone.
“Make sure you actually check the terms and conditions and make sure you are getting like-for-like,” he said.
He reminded that the fact that there is economic uncertainty does not make it impossible to find good deals – there are many to be found.
Young drivers who are considered a higher risk by insurance can find shopping around very useful and may even land very good deals, the expert said.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that adding an au pair or child minder to a car insurance policy could substantially affect the cost for primary drivers.
