Kwik Fit Insurance subsidiary company, The Green Insurance Company has announced its completion of first year of trading.
According to reports, the Uddingston-based intermediary company has grown rapidly since its launch one year ago.
The insurance company says that it now boasts more than 12,000 car insurance customers registered on its books.
In a statement, Green Insurance Company revealed that it started out with a team of only 3 and at currently, the insurer employs 28 members of staff and is looking to recruit again in the near future.
Andrew McMillan, managing director, said: “Our mission is to make it easier for people to be more environmentally friendly in every day life.
The insurer says that their aim was to create a company that would be different in terms of services provided to the industry. Additionally, it pledged to ensure that both customers and employees feel that they are a part of something important.
At the same time, the insurance company has attracted a large interest among industry players after promising to offset 100% of the carbon emissions generated by customers’ cars.
According to other reports, Green Insurance Company has further pledged 5% of its annual profits to environmental and ethical causes.
