Most of us rejoice the day that we can discard our “learner’s” stamp, tear up the “L” and sit behind the wheel with ease- driving with a smile- without Auntie in the passenger’s seat. But, as young people usually do, unthinkingly eager to start the car, we do not consider that the excitement of automobile freedom will soon decline once you awaken- and realize exactly how much it costs. Nevertheless, new drivers can seek to ensure that they take the cruise without the painstaking thought of price.
Car insurance costs can be reduced up to a third of the total expense if every driver takes a Pass Plus motoring course. The more experienced drivers, however, can also reduce insurance costs through several advanced level driving courses- that seek to build on the skills that are required to pass the initial driving test.
These courses are also offered worldwide, as Defensive Driving courses, which always reduce insurance costs once the test is passed with a good mark!
I was speaking to my older brother this week, and he has been behind the wheel, for more than 20 years now. Even with his 20 years of experience, he still took the Pass Plus course to reduce his costs. As a driver for almost 10 years, I do not consider myself to be an amateur, but as we all do, I have picked up many, many bad habits on the road. You know them; occasional breaking of red lights during late hours, rushing past cars and exceeding the speed limit, forgetting the license at home and simply not worried about it. Taking into consideration all of the above, I took the six hour course just to see whether I could face the music. I also pondered on the near-200 quid that I would be making, wondering if to just chuck it in the bank and forget the lower insurance costs.
