Britain's 'ladettes' are increasingly being caught drink-driving, new government figures suggest.
Rates of females in the UK failing breathalyser test were found to have increased by 20 per cent between 1995 and 2006.
Furthermore, convictions of women drink and drug-drivers in England and Wales increased by 60 per cent between 1995 and 2005, the Times reports.
This means that females make up 12 per cent of such driving convictions - up from just seven per cent 13 years ago.
Being drunk behind the wheel slows reaction times, heightening the risk of accidents and car insurance claims.
"More and more women are drinking pints, and more women are behaving like men, even behind the wheel," Andrew Howard, head of road safety at car insurance provider the AA, told the newspaper.
Sheila Rainger at the RAC added: "We are seeing a worrying rise in the number of women who are driving while over the limit.
"This is one side effect of increased equality that we really don't want to see."
