H&H Classic Auctions is auctioning off no less than six classic Ferraris this year, proving that the old-style, rubber-burning sports cars are no less a thing of the past to motorists as Elvis is to young girls.
After an RHD Ferrari 330 GTC sold for a record price at the Duxford Imperial War Museum, the Rosso Red 1973 365 GTB/4 Daytona is headlining the auction at an estimated £140,000-60,000.
One of only 154 RHD examples, this Ferrari is being sold on the basis that it's fast and not easily acquired - one reason its car insurance premiums may also mirror the price of a house more than that of a typical vehicle.
With the amount of care and detail car enthusiasts put into these classic cars however, it is no wonder that they are usually driven during the weekends along traffic-free roads as the price of having to repair a broken fender that is not easy to replace would be unthinkable.
Even though car enthusiasts have been shown to get into less accidents because they usually own more than one car and may drive more carefully because of it, the overall costs of owning one of these rarities may be more over the long haul.
