Cars built in Britain are more reliable than those built elsewhere in the world, according to a new survey from What Car? magazine and Warranty Direct.
The research shows that six of the top ten most dependable models are manufactured on British soil, with the Derbyshire-built Toyota Corolla coming in first place. Second place was taken by the Honda CR-V, which is built in Swindon.
In terms of the most reliable manufacturers, Honda took the top spot following by Toyota, although Mini, which is built near Oxford, and Nissan, which is made in Sunderland, were also in the top ten.
Steve Fowler, editor of What Car?, said: "The annual reliability study is a thorough and helpful guide that provides important data for buyers of new and used cars. British workers should be proud that their products have done so well."
If the survey's findings are any indication drivers of British made cars may find they are able to get cheaper car insurance premiums thanks to the increased reliability of their vehicles.
