Car Insurance - Drivers told to go green - 01/04/2008

Drivers are being told that they should go green and offset 100 per cent of their emissions with specialist car insurance.

The Green Insurance Company is a specialist environmental insurance provider that donates money to charities which act to diminish the carbon footprint. The insurer also provides 'low emissions' five per cent discount to drivers of fuel-efficient cars.

Their website comments: “f you have a car, you need car insurance. Why not get insured and help save the planet too? If you insure with us, your car’s CO2 emissions will be completely offset by using trees that will absorb the same amount of CO2 that your car produces.”

The Green Insurance Company offers other reasons to joing them too, such as: a 12.5% online discount, courtesy car with comprehensive cover, option to add on legal expenses up to £75,000 and 90 days foreign travel cover.
