With the recent skyrocket in fuel costs, many motorists are taking to cycling, but one woman from Horncastle has been riding her bike to work for many years.
"It keeps me fit and is better for the environment," Caroline Lloyd told the Horncastle News. "In the old days it was normal for people to cycle everywhere and people wouldn't think anything of it. I would recommend people to do it but they need to be careful on the roads."
Always equipped with her illuminated jacket and helmet, the Horncastle News reports that Caroline rides her bike to and from Horncastle on the A153 to her job at Age Concern Lindsey in Manor House Street. She travels by bike thrice weekly from her home in Scamblesby, the report indicated, and Caroline says she’s been doing so for as long as she can remember.
"I think long term it needs to be addressed as an oil based economy is not going to function and something needs to be developed," Caroline further told Horncastle News.
