Bike Insurance - increasing demand for bike insurance - 29/04/2008

Bike insurance could currently be in higher demand in the UK than ever before.

According to motorcycles direct they believe that “it is possible that bike insurance will be in higher demand as consumers are seemingly shunning purchasing new cars in favour of other means of transport as economic conditions are tight.”

Last month there was a sudden drop in the mount of cars sold within the UK. These figures were presented by the NFDA, the National Franchised Dealers Association. It appears that consumers may be lacking in confidence which seems to be illustrated in UK car sales at present. In the month of February a mere 69,610 new cars were purchased and driven out of show rooms/forecourts which means there has been a significant drop of about 5.4% in comparison to the month of February last year.

Experts have suggested that it could be a combination of two things a weakening consumer confidence as well as a slow moving market that may be in desperate need  Of an interest rate slash. If this being the actual case then the bike market will be more than welcoming to a possible surge of new customers opting for bikes, therefore requiring insurance for the bikes.
